ABOUT US
Orchid Bay is owned and operated by Noorie and Josh Harbias,
a couple with a shared passion for Thai food.
Noorie Harbias,
Noorie comes from the north of Thailand, a region that is commonly
known as Issan.
Her family have been cooking and selling Thai food in restaurants,
cafes and markets for more than 40 years, and across several
generations. Noorie took an interest in cooking and has developed
her culinary skills from an early age, turning her hand to a
range of local and national recipes. Since an early age she
has wanted to own her own restaurant, and has always enjoyed
entertaining friends and family, preparing and serving traditional
Thai recipes. Now, a lifetime’s practice has come to fruition
in Orchid Bay.

Josh Harbias,
Josh’s background is in finance
and consultancy work with a number of large finance, banking
& insurance companies. As a regular visitor to London’s
theatres and the Royal Ballet, he found that nothing complements
a night out in the West End better than a sumptuous dinner.
It was over 10 years ago in a small London restaurant that Josh
became hooked on the delicate, yet intense, flavours and aromas
of Thai cuiisine.
This prompted the first of many trips to Thailand, and over
the years he has travelled through many provinces trying many
different foods. You could say that in Noorie, Josh has found
the perfect partner to help realise this enthusiasm for Thai
food by opening Orchid Bay. |
